Aims of the School
At Prestbury St Mary’s Junior School we aim:
- to recognise each individual’s needs, worth and integrity
- to provide continuity of purpose in expectations, tandards and progression across Key Stage 2, developing from Key Stage 1 and leading to Key Stage 3
- to produce a balance in curricular and extra curricular activities and opportunities
- to provide opportunities for children to develop self-awareness and confidence, self-discipline and sensitivity to the needs of others
- to develop children’s natural curiosity and to harness that power to develop positive and structured attitudes to learning and communication
- to enable each child to develop his or her potential academically, physically and creatively
- to stimulate an enjoyment of learning and knowledge
- to encourage children to develop a set of beliefs and values for life and to recognise and respect the values and beliefs of other races, creeds and cultures
- to be aware of the need for a whole and healthy attitude towards life and the environment
In essence, the aim of the school would be to provide a secure, stable and invigorating environment where the children are stimulated to learn, explore and enjoy life.
