Of the sixteen school governors, nine are Foundation Governors, nominated by St Mary’s P.C.C. and appointed by the Gloucester Diocesan Board of Education. They represent the Church Authority (foundation) and hold special responsibility on the one hand, for the school buildings, their maintenance and good repair, and on the other for the religious education of the children according to the traditions of the foundation.
Five governors will come to the end of their terms of office at the end of this academic year, the majority following many years service to the school.
New appointments to the governing body will be made in September 2009.
