Oakley Cluster has appointed a PSA to work across 8 schools in the cluster

What is a ‘PSA’?

A PSA or Parent Support Advisor is there to provide accessible services to meet the needs of parents/ carers and young people, to strengthen relationships and communication between home school and other services, to encourage learning opportunities for adults and young people and to improve the achievements and attendance of young people.

What will we offer?

• Confidential and flexible support, advice and guidance to parents/carers and young people through drop-ins, meetings and courses in and out of school as well as telephone/ text/ email to individuals, groups or families.
  
• Knowledge of other services and organisations and swift and easy access to them.
  
• Opportunities to meet other parents/carers and share experiences and ideas through regular events.

What’s on and when?

Anne Willetts, the PSA for the Oakley Cluster, will be working in schools on certain days (dates to be confirmed) running drop-ins, groups for parents, carers and young people and to meet with individuals informally or by appointment.

Details of what’s happening in each school will be displayed in school and copies will be available from school reception.

Questionnaires will be sent out through schools to find out what services parents, carers and young people would like in their schools. Groups, courses and information sessions will be arranged to reflect the individual needs or wants of each school.

From Monday, 3rd November, 2008 I will be in schools for a specific day of the week, fortnightly, between the hours of 9am and 5pm, Monday to Thursday. (Days to be confirmed).
